As Ironman Triathletes, 70.3 IM Triathletes, and athletes in general, sometimes it is hard to get out of bed in the morning to get your training in. It is cold. You are tired. You are sore. Etc. The list goes on and on.
About 1.5 years ago, I was told about a TEDx Talk by a dear friend of mine from Simon Sinek about “Finding Your Why,” about how great leaders are successful. Check it out below:
After watching this talk NUMEROUS times, I started figuring out WHY I do what I do. How my why motivates me to be a better person, athlete, business owner, etc. Last month, I did a 12 day video series on “How to Structure Life with Ironman Triathlon Training,” and the very first day was talking about your why. Why do you get out of bed every day to train for your Ironman Triathlon? Is it because your friends wanted to do it? Is it because you want to inspire your kids? Figure this out ASAP, because it will make 2016 much easier as you head into the middle of January and toward February. Maybe your motivation isn’t there anymore, BUT if you have figured out your WHY as you get out of bed every morning, this I promise you will make you crossing that finish line so much sweeter!
