“When people told me I couldn’t do something or they thought the “idea” was crazy…it actually fueled my fire to make it happen. I have always been a go-getter and I didn’t let the word, “No” get in my way. I knew I would fail but I would just get back up and try again. As I got older, I realized something. People, who were scared of failing, were the people that thought I was crazy for doing something extraordinary. What I did was worked with Marine Mammals, auditioned for a Broadway show or did an Ironman Triathlon.” ~Jennifer “Jen” Rulon, MS
As a health and fitness expert, Jennifer “Jen” Rulon MS, has inspired, coached and motivated many athletes to get to their first sprint triathlon to their 3rd Ironman Triathlon. Jen guides her athletes to learn about themselves BEYOND the physical aspects of doing an Ironman Triathlon. Jen is a 10x Ironman Triathlete and has learned “How to Structure Life with Ironman Triathlon Training.”
Jen received her Masters Degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Exercise Science at the University of Texas – San Antonio in 2012. Since 2001, she received her USA Triathlon Level I Coaching certification and has been coaching ever since. She is currently working on her NSCA, National Strength and Conditioning Association as a CSCS, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Jen’s writing and speaking engagements is inspired by her rewarding experience; both from competing herself and from being lucky enough to share the success of athletes that she has coached. With a wealth of knowledge from Ironman Triathlons, nutrition pre, during and post and the science behind building strength, Jen’s blog is full of resources for the athletic community. You will also see some of her knowledge shared in Runners World, Triathlete Magazine, Men’s Online Journal and WebMD.
Living a full and happy life is the key to Jen’s success but she wants nothing more than her athletes to feel the same way. She wants her athletes to step away from coaching with her, head into the world and believe that “Yes, it is possible to do anything, all I have to do is put my mind to it.”
