Day 10 of #RulonRules of Strength Training & The Triathlete
On the 10th day of Rulon Rules, Coach Jen gave to me:
Lift with a Group or with Friends
Triathlon can be a very lonely sport. You really can’t talk in the water; just between your drill sets, and you really don’t want to chat on your RI (rest interval!). Riding with a group can be great, but if you have specific workouts for your training, you may have to train alone, either to go slower or to go faster. Same goes for running. Running with a group is great, but you may have specifics for your own training.
Lifting weights and doing HIIT workouts are a FANTASTIC way to get around friends and push each other on an equal playing field. While one friend may be better on the weights, you may be able to push them on the run. It is fun to be around people again!
