Let me put together a scenario for you. I think a lot of you will understand this scenario, especially my triathlete friends.

Me: “Hi. My name is Jen.”

Everyone: “Hi, Jen.”

Me: “I have a problem. I have a real problem.”

Everyone: “It’s OK, Jen. You can talk to us about it. Please share.”

Me: “Oh, boy. I am nervous. I don’t know if I can say it.”

Everyone: Clapping. “Come on, Jen.” “You can do it!” More clapping.

Me: *Sigh* “Friends, I have a Boco Gear Trucker Hat Problem. There, I said it.”

I do. I pulled all of my Boco Gear Trucker Hats, and I thought, “Holy Shit. That is many HATS!” However, I guess I can justify it because I wear my hats a lot as an athlete and in my business (Pun Intended!).

As I started thinking about this blog and how I LOVE being a Boco Gear Ambassador, I got this fun warm fuzzy feelings about this pile of hats because they all have a story. Let me give you a little bit of insight into a few of them. I think you will enjoy the stories.

Rulon Racing Team

First and foremost, never in a MILLION years did I think that I would have my very own team called Rulon Racing. Here’s the thing, when I started my business, JenRulon.com, I figured it would be the Jen Rulon Team! HA! However, then I realized that I needed to have more of a “neutral” ground for all my athletes, especially my husband. I didn’t want him to wear “Jen Rulon” nor did I expect him too. It was a HUGE lesson learned on growing my brand and business, but a swift lesson learned. Now we have Boco Gear Foam Hats, Technical Hats, Visors, and Beanies. At one point, we started thinking about the backpacks, but that may be down the road.

This style will ALWAYS be what I wear during a race, as this is what I wore on that fantastic day in August 2017. See below.

Ironman Mont Tremblant 2017

I don’t know if I will EVER get rid of this hat or wear this hat. Ironman Mont Tremblant -2017 was one of the best races that I have ever raced and where I qualified for the Ironman World Championship. Sometimes I wonder if I will “ever” peak again as an athlete. I do, but every time, I looked at this hat, I think, “Do I need to peak again and love what I accomplished in 2017?” Hard to say and maybe I will know an answer again soon, but for now, I will LOVE on this IMMT hat for as long as I live. Who knows, maybe I will give it to my niece, Taryn, who was there cheering me on that day.

Training Peaks Endurance Coaching Summit – 2017

2017 was indeed an epic year for me, not only as an athlete but also as a coach. When I went to the Training Peaks Endurance Coaching Summit in Boulder, CO, I met a lot of amazing coaches, business, and brands. I got some good juju rubbed off on me with talking with the likes of Tim Don, Ben Hoffman, and Chris McDonald.

At this conference was where I came up with the “Master Your Coaching Business” Program/Course. There are SO many coaches out there who know how to coach, but they struggle with running a business, finding more clients, and how to stand out from the rest.

Ironically, I will be speaking at the Training Peaks Endurance Coaching Summit in 2019 on this very same topic. How to “Master Your Coaching Business” through Social Media. Want to join us?

Boco Gear Ambassador 2018 and 2019

When you find a product that you love, trust, and know, that is when you want to apply to be an Ambassador. That you want to wear and show how much you appreciate them as a company. That when you become an Ambassador, it is easy to plug and not a chore.

As a coach and as an athlete, I see many Ambassadors, not loving on their brands that they are a part of. If you want to learn more about “Working With a Brand,” click the link to learn more about how to work with brands.

As you can see, working with Boco Gear has been very easy for me. As I admitted…

“Houston. We have a Boco Gear Problem!”
