What inspired you to do triathlons? What inspires me to race are my girls. To show that it’s important to have interests outside of any relationship or career. Why Triathlon? I enjoy a good challenge, as any self-confessed Type A personality would.
How did you start doing triathlons? Picture it. January. 2013. Disney World. I did my first (and to date, only) full marathon. I was happy to not do one again afterward. Fast forward to July, Devens MA and I did my first ever century ride. It was hilly. It was rainy. And I loved every minute of it. And I thought, “If I just learned to swim 2.4 miles, did this ride again, and sucked up another marathon, Jill Corrigan you could be an Ironman!” I may not be an Ironman yet, but I AM a triathlete.
When was your first triathlon? September 2014
What is your strength in a race? I come to triathlon through running, but honestly, I think my strength at this point is cycling.
What is your weakness in a race? Running. Though I admit, that’s probably all mental.
Favorite Race: Pumpkinman Triathlon Festival, South Berwick ME
Races for 2019:
Undecided, mostly. I have AG Nationals in August and my first ever 70.3 in September, but really need to hunker down and figure out some training races!
