“Change. It happens to all of us, big and small. We can either allow it and let it fall or fight the fall and crash hard.” ~ Jen Rulon

After being in the States for two months, I am finally home, Costa Rica. I was supposed to be back home in Costa Rica on September 10th, but life happened, and I was helping my family in Michigan. I only told my close friends, but everyone is good. My Mom took a spill, had surgery, and is recovering very well. I drove her car to Florida, flew back to get her, and settled her at home. I spent my birthday with her, which was pretty special. I don’t remember the last time we spent my birthday together. The community that she has in The Villages is incredible, and I felt good letting her do her thing, as it was time for me to do the same.

My focus shifted towards my family, my 1:1 athletes, and my passion project, “The Everyday Healthy Human” podcast. Life threw me a curveball, and I’ve consciously embraced it and prioritized these aspects.

Sometimes, when we face change, we rediscover the familiar comforts of our true passions. For me, it’s the serenity of water and the joy of writing, along with finding new gyms and personal trainers. That is non-negotiable for me (fitness, healthy eating, coffee, a journal, and a body of water.) These constants have provided solace and inspiration during times of change, reminding me of the importance of staying true to my core values.

Have you experienced change recently? I invite you to reflect on your journey in the spirit of embracing change. Here are some questions for you.

What are the constants that ground you when life happens?

What are the passions that inspire and rejuvenate you?

In times of change, these very things often help us navigate the uncertain waters with grace.

I am starting to embrace a NEW chapter in my business because I recognize that I have also changed.

I have returned to Costa Rica, aka home, with a new outlook on life. I am looking forward to this freedom that I have gained and seeing where I plan on flying.

It is a lifestyle, and I am here to help you cross that finish line with a smile, whether it is an Ironman Triathlon or the Ironman of Life. You can find my knowledge shared in Triathlete Magazine, Runners World, on the TEDx Stage, the Health and Wellness Expo in San Antonio, TX, Southwest Research Institute Human Performance Summit, Training Peaks Workshops, "Self Motivation Strategies for Women" on Amazon, Men's Journal Online, and the New York Times.
