24 Hours to Reset: What Fasting Taught Me About Clarity, Control, and Coming Home to Myself

It started simply: a 24-hour fast from 8 PM Thursday to 8 PM Friday.

No fancy protocol. No perfection. Just me, my body, and the intention to reset.

Because this wasn’t about deprivation.

It was about rest.

Giving my body a break from digestion so it could focus on repair, detoxification, and recalibration.

Think pause, not punishment.

Before the Fast: When My Body Started Whispering

I had just returned from the States, and everything felt off.

My skin was rebelling against the humidity shift, my head was pounding for two days straight, my ring told me I was “strained,” and I was craving sugar like it was my job.

My body wasn’t asking me to push harder, it was asking me to listen.

So, I decided to do a 24-hour fast as a Ctrl-Alt-Delete for my body and mind. A moment to come back to myself, to slow down, to see what surfaced when I stopped numbing with food, noise, or social media.

I journaled before I began:

  • What’s been feeling off?

  • What do I need to release or reset?

  • How can I support myself through this?

The answers were simple: clarity, calm, control.

What Lessons Learned Have You Had During a Fast?

During the Fast: Hunger, Aha Moments, and Sand Dollars

By morning, I felt it, that familiar pull toward the kitchen, the habit of eating “because it’s time.”Around hour 15, I told myself, “You’ve got this. Only 9 hours left.”

Then the magic happened.

I went for a walk on the beach, and around hour 17, something shifted.

The tide was low, the air was still, and I saw it…a white sand dollar in the sand. A sign of completion, of letting go.

I looked at my watch. It said 1:11 PM. Of course it did.

That was my cue.

I realized I’d been holding onto things that were no longer alive, like the client who wasn’t aligned and the website team that didn’t feel right.

As I walked, clarity came pouring in.

I didn’t need to outsource my power anymore. I could trust myself: my intuition, my rhythm, my decisions.

That beach walk felt like a portal opening:

“Hunger is temporary. Clarity is lasting.”

Fast > Clarity

What I Learned About Myself

Fasting made me realize how often I reach for control.

Food. Work. Distraction.

But underneath that control is usually something deeper and the need to feel safe, certain, grounded.

When I stayed busy, hunger disappeared.

When I slowed down, it surfaced, not as pain, but as a teacher.

The lesson?

Stillness shows you what you’ve been avoiding.

The Steak was INCREDIBLE Post Fast. I ate the WHOLE THING!

Breaking the Fast: Gratitude and Grounding

When I finally sat down to eat, a big, beautiful steak from my boyfriend, I felt lighter, calmer, and so much clearer.

I didn’t rush. I didn’t scroll. I just sat in gratitude.

And I wrote this down in my journal:

“This reset wasn’t about food. It was about coming home to myself.”

I learned to trust my intuition again.

To listen when my body says slow down.

To recognize when energy feels off, whether it’s in my business, my relationships, or my own habits.

Moving Forward

I’m going to make this a biweekly ritual, a 24 hours of stillness, reflection, and reconnection.

Maybe next time, I’ll layer in a social media fast, more journaling, and an afternoon dip in the ocean.

Because every time I quiet the noise, I hear the truth more clearly.

Work with Me

Three incredible women joined me for this 24-hour reset, as each of them stepping into their own version of clarity, calm, and control.

Because when you pause long enough to listen, your body always tells you what it needs. Sometimes it’s food. Sometimes it’s stillness. And sometimes, it’s support.

If you’re standing in your own “what now?” moment and ready to feel strong, purposeful, and confident again — this is your sign.
