First of all – Happy New Year, and welcome to 2020! Let’s kick some ass this year!!!

Let’s talk about a topic that drives me crazy – New Year’s Resolutions.

I had a conversation with an athlete who went to the gym and said it was packed in the pool, and it was tough to get a lane. She got it in and MADE IT HAPPEN!

Then I had another conversation with friends who were talking about their New Year’s resolutions. I told them flat out – resolutions are (pardon my French) bullshit. What I want to say to people is that it’s a lifestyle change.

A lifestyle change is something I feel very passionate about. I know people start their New Year’s resolutions in the New Year, but guess what – you have EVERY DAY that you wake up to make a change in your life.

And it’s pretty fricken awesome!

You get to wake up, and you get to choose if you sleep in or go to the gym.

You have a choice to go for a run or go to brunch with friends – you have an opportunity to make that lifestyle choice every single day.

Don’t wait for January 1st to make that change. Experts say it takes 21 days to make a change – get started!

Every single day you have a choice to clean up that diet, to go for a run, to go swim, to do Zumba, to lift weights, to stop smoking. You have that choice to decide whatever you want to do for your lifestyle change versus your New Year’s resolutions.

Side note: I woke up on January 7th, #tiredaf, as I slept terribly. My bestie reached out and asked me how I was doing and she sent me a GIF about slaying. As I was walking out to walk Macca Dog, I said to Chris, “Ok, it is time to slay the day.” Then when I was walking this popped up in my head.
